This flexibility is essential because our guides are in the forest every day and know exactly where key species are perching, feeding, or moving. Iconic birds such as the Resplendent Quetzal and the Three-wattled Bellbird constantly shift locations throughout the cloud forest based on food availability, weather changes, and breeding behavior.

By allowing our guides to choose the location on the same morning of the tour, we give you the best possible chance to see these remarkable species and enjoy an exceptional birdwatching experience.

Bird movements are influenced by many factors such as weather, wind, rain, fruiting trees, feeding behavior, altitude, and seasonal patterns.

Because birds in the cloud forest—especially species like the Resplendent Quetzal and the Three-wattled Bellbird—change perching and feeding areas frequently, fixing a single permanent meeting point would reduce your chances of successful sightings. For this reason, the guide may adjust both the meeting point and the starting area to ensure the best possible birdwatching experience.
