Today, Sergio is a Natural History Walk Specialist, guiding visitors through Monteverde’s breathtaking landscapes and sharing his vast knowledge of its flora, fauna, and rich ecological history.

Sergio’s expertise comes from years of hands-on experience in scientific research, conservation, and environmental education. He previously worked as a ranger at the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, where he played a crucial role in protecting and managing one of the most biodiverse areas in Costa Rica. Additionally, he spent many years at the Centro Científico Tropical in the Monteverde Reserve as a research assistant, contributing to important ecological studies.
Now, Sergio dedicates his time to guiding and educating visitors, offering insightful and immersive Natural History Walks. He works with MonteverdeTravel.com and also as a freelancer, ensuring that every guest experiences the cloud forest through the eyes of a true local expert.
